We appreciate those who put themselves at risk to defend the United States. It is nice to say "thanks for your service" but true appreciation requires that we do more.

Art Show To Benefit The Disadvantaged through The Premier Foundation

Here is a way to benefit the disadvantaged and get together with other like minded people. April 17th at Zen in downtown Greenville, South Carolina, Premiere Foundation is hosting an event called: Perspective.

"The Premier Foundation presents the second annual Perspective: A Jared Emerson Art Show and Benefit. The event benefits the Premier Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)(3) foundation committed to serving the world’s impoverished. The event will feature an art show and auction by nationally-acclaimed artist Jared Emerson, heavy hors d’oeuvres, drinks, live music, silent and live auction and special live performances by Emerson."

Update: The Overseas Mission Project

In a previous post about the overseas mission project, we wrote about the tremendous needs of the people in the city of Lod, Israel. This is a project undertaken by Powdersville Self Storage, along with the Premier Foundation.

We are pleased to be able to say that progress is being made.

Nearly enough money has been raised for the purchase of an old truck. This is to be used for a "Meals on Wheels" style ministry.

Also, a forklift truck has been purchased. This is needed to move food around the center, and a refrigerator for storing perishables is in place!

Money is still needed to renovate the existing site, especially the plumbing.

In The Spirit of Giving

Powdersville Self Storage, along with the Premier Foundation, have undertaken a huge mission project overseas, and we need your help!

There is a tremendous need in the city of Lod, Israel, for a shelter that would feed hundreds of single moms, children, the homeless, and even the survivors of the Holocaust. Currently, approximately sixty (60) meals are served per day. With the help of the Premier Foundation, and with the support of Powdersville Self Storage, the goal is to furnish an entire kitchen whereby hundreds would be fed two (2) meals per week on Fridays and Saturdays.

Their current needs are:

1. An old vehicle in which to transport foods to the actual building where the food will be prepared, as well as for delivering meals to those people who are “ashamed” to come to the center to receive this free meal, and to take meals to the elderly, some of which are Holocaust survivors, who are not able to come to the center. 
2. A forklift is needed to be able to move the large pallets of food around the center. 
3. A refrigerator to store all the perishable items. 
4. Renovation of the current site with emphasis on the plumbing.

 Would you be willing to “share your plenty” with those who are so much less fortunate than we are here in the United States? With Thanksgiving and Christmas fast approaching, what better gift to give than to help feed the hungry in such a poverty-stricken place.
