There is a tremendous need in the city of Lod, Israel, for a shelter that would feed hundreds of single moms, children, the homeless, and even the survivors of the Holocaust. Currently, approximately sixty (60) meals are served per day. With the help of the Premier Foundation, and with the support of Powdersville Self Storage, the goal is to furnish an entire kitchen whereby hundreds would be fed two (2) meals per week on Fridays and Saturdays.
Their current needs are:
- An old vehicle in which to transport foods to the actual building where the food will be prepared, as well as for delivering meals to those people who are “ashamed” to come to the center to receive this free meal, and to take meals to the elderly, some of which are Holocaust survivors, who are not able to come to the center.
- A forklift is needed to be able to move the large pallets of food around the center.
- A refrigerator to store all the perishable items.
- Renovation of the current site with emphasis on the plumbing.
